Lewisburg-Charles “Jack” Cook 66, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at home.
Born Mar. 12, 1949, in Slab Fork, he was the son of the late Charles Eugene and Phyllis Pauline Acord Cook
Jack was a retired coal miner/construction worker having worked for Cypress Kanawha Coal and United Steel Workers. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church at Asbury.
Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Denise Belt.
Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Mary “Sue” Loggins Cook of Lewisburg; son, C. J. (Betsy) Cook of Victorville, CA; son-in-law, Keith Belt of Clay; grandchildren, Jami Belt of Clay, Joey Cook, Lena Cook and Abby Cook all of Victorville, CA:, great-grandson, Nolan Belt of Clay; and brother, Roger (Mary Jo) Cook of Crawley.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Grace Bible Church at Asbury with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
