Chamber to host medical office ribbon-cutting

The Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in conjunction with the grand opening of Rural Acres Infusion on Friday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. Festivities will continue through 3 p.m. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Rural Acres is located at 203 Dawkins Drive, Lewisburg.

With the need for outpatient infusion services in Raleigh County growing exponentially, a local business owner, along with a local nurse practitioner, Robin Chianumba CFNP, DNP, branched out to offer a needed community service. In 2009, Stanaford Infusion opened its doors to the community. In 2015, the owner closed the doors and outsourced the patients.

Now under new ownership and management, Rural Acres Infusion was founded on May 1, 2015, in Beckley by Chianumba and her two daughters, Autumn Smith RN, and Meagan Cobb D.O. The goal was to provide infusion services to the community in a relaxed, clean, and ambulatory environment. The infusion service proved to be needed in other areas; therefore, an expansion to Lewisburg was made.

“At Rural Acres Infusion, we pride ourselves on the service provided to those needing specialty medications. We infuse a vast array of specialty medications including Glassia, Intravenous Immunoglobin (IVIG), Remicade, Tysabri, Boniva, Reclast, and Zemaira, as well as intravenous iron, normal saline, Solu-Medrol, and an array of antibiotics. We also offer shot services for your vaccination needs, as well as first dose administration for antibiotics prior to receiving home health,” said Chianumba.

Both the Beckley and Lewisburg locations offer private rooms with reclining chairs, televisions, snacks for the patients, shot rooms, and a host of staff to cater to the patient’s needs. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with extended hours and weekend infusions by appointment.
