At the regular Council Meeting of the Town of Alderson on Thursday, May 14, Mayor Travis Copenhaver presented Causby Parker with a certificate proclaiming her “a true and devout Aldersonian.”

Parker, sometimes known as “Scoop,” has become the on-site photographer and reporter for “The Aldersonian,” a web site hosted by Barry Worrell, a former resident of Alderson. The site provides a place to post stories, memories, photos, and more about the Town of Alderson. It provides a special service in uniting residents and former residents of the town.

Parker compiled a “virtual tour” of the town, street by street, which helped elderly residents and those from far away to see the changes which have occurred. For this and other services she was recognized by Mayor Copenhaver who said, “She has gone well above and beyond the call of duty to help our citizens both near and far.”

Parker said, “I enjoy being able to give everyone the chance to see our town. It brings back a lot of memories for everyone.” Her work can be seen at http://www.min7th.com/ahs/.
