Thirty cows worth an estimated $39,000 were rustled from the Cattlemen’s Livestock Exchange in Caldwell in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 6. According to Greenbrier County Sheriff Jan Cahill, the theft was facilitated by the disabling of the surveillance system. The theft is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, Cahill said; however, tips are coming in from the public.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to call Corporal T.C. Webber of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department at 304-647-6634. Cattlemen’s Livestock Exchange is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the recovery of the stolen cattle. Persons are advised to call Brandon Myers at 304-667-2178.
