Thirty cows worth an estimated $39,000 were rustled from the Cattlemen’s Livestock Exchange in Caldwell in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 6. According to Greenbrier County Sheriff Jan Cahill, the theft was facilitated by the disabling of the surveillance system. The theft is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, Cahill said; however, tips are coming in from the public.
