Spring 2023 Classes & Workshops: Carnegie Hall offers learning opportunities starting in February and continuing through May. Classes and workshops include woodturning, hand crafting tea pots and mugs, sausage making, salt-rising bread making, soap making, making Appalachian Medicinals, guided ceramic projects for all ages, painting, drawing, printmaking, basket weaving, fiber arts, craft jewelry, and leather craft. Saturday, Mar. 18: Preshow Lounge – Join Carnegie Hall for a Carnegie Classics Preshow Reception in the Board Room on Saturday, Mar. 18, at 6:30 p.m. Free admission. Cash bar and snacks available.
Saturday, Mar. 18: Gershwin Meets Brahms! – The Carnegie Classics Series presents Gershwin Meets Brahms! featuring Barbara Nissman with The Montclaire String Quartet on Saturday, Mar. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Join Carnegie Hall for more of Barbara’s favorites as she showcases the music of Gershwin and Brahms. Individual performance tickets are $20. Buy One Get One Free available for patrons 50 years of age and older. Students 18 years old and younger are admitted free but must reserve a ticket. Call for discounted/free tickets or more information.
Sunday, Mar. 19: Affrilachian: Selected Readings By Nikki Giovanni – Carnegie Hall and the Greenbrier Historical Society presents Affrilachian: Selected Readings by Nikki Giovanni on Sunday, Mar. 19, at 3 p.m. As part of the Carnegie Hall Appalachian Heritage Lecture Series, Nikki Giovanni will read selected Poetry and Prose. Tickets are $20.
Thursday, Mar. 30: Second Stage Lounge – Join Carnegie Hall for the Smooth Ambler Second Stage Lounge The Fabulous Baker Sisters Return preshow reception in the Old Stone Room at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 30. Free admission. Cash bar available.
Thursday, Mar. 30: The Fabulous Baker Sisters Return – The Smooth Ambler Second Stage Series presents The Fabulous Baker Sisters Return on Thursday, March 30, at 7:30 p.m. Join Carnegie Hall in the Old Stone Roomas The Fabulous Baker Sisters Return for a night new and classic funny stories, memories, and monologues. Tickets are $15.
Rotating Galleries:
Old Stone Room Gallery – 29th Annual Creative Youth Art Exhibit. Awards ceremony and reception Mar. 6, at 6 p.m.
Museum Gallery – Works by Trish Tuckwiller. Runs through Mar. 31.
Lobby Gallery – Works by Kathy Talley. Runs through Mar. 31.
Permanent Exhibit:
Arts from the Ashes: The History of Carnegie Hall – The exhibit features memorabilia, photographs, artifacts and more of Carnegie Hall since its construction in 1901. Located on the second floor. Free admission
