Carlos David Holt, 86, of Alderson, passed away peacefully at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg on Sunday, Apr. 27, 2025. He was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Pemberton, WV, a son of the late Frank Cooper and Hezel Inez (McVey) Holt.
David graduated from Green Sulphur District High School as valedictorian, an achievement he recognized. He later went to work as a water treatment operator for White Sulphur Springs, Alderson, Mill Point and the Rual Water Company, where he trained and directed others on how to operate water treatment facilities. David will be remembered for his love of gardening, reading, watching Fox News, fixing anything difficult, but most of all spending time and caring for his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Sue (Arbaugh) Holt. David is also survived by sons, Perry Owen McCallister and Jarrett Wayne McCallister both of Alderson; his granddaughters, Gabrielle Letisha Andrews, of Lewisburg, and Jourdan Micha McCallister, of Alderson; his grandson, Anthony Andrews, of Lewisburg; his six great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Melaine Renee McCallister.
In keeping with his wishes, David will be cremated with no service, and Lobban Funeral Home is entrusted to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
