Burl Blankenship

Burl Blankenship was born in Esty, WV, on June 26, 1951, and died at his home on Monday, July 23, 2018.

Burl served his country from 1968-1972 in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam war. He also served in the Army National Guard until 1995. He was employed by The Greenbrier Hotel for 25 years in the Housekeeping Department.

Burl was proceeded in death by his parents, Elias and Emma Blankenship; brother, Carl (surviving spouse Janice); and sisters, Eldora Flack and Evalena Blake.

He is survived by his son, Joshua and daughter-in-law, Nina and his only granddaughter, Laurel, who he was extremely proud of.  Burl is also survived by his life partner, Louise Rider, as well as many nieces and nephews.

At his request, he will be cremated with no services to be held.

Donations can be made in his memory to American Legion Greenbrier, Post 26 P.O. Box 52, Ronceverte, WV 24970, in lieu of flowers.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangments.
