86th annual State Horseshoe Tournament scheduled
The Mountaineer Horseshoe League from Ronceverte will host the 86th annual State Horseshoe Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the horseshoe courts located on the Island Park in Ronceverte. Pitching will begin at approximately 9 a.m. We invite everyone to come and watch the pitchers and cheer them on.
Community Block Party
at First Baptist
First Baptist Church of Fairlea (across from The Greenbrier County Health Department) invites everyone to its annual Community Block Party. All are invited Sunday, Aug. 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. for free outdoor games, food, and fun! Join us for a great time to celebrate the end of summer!
Alderson Farmers Market
is held each Tuesday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. beginning May 7 – Oct. 29. They offer WIC, senior vouchers, carrot club for children, stretch, snap, and they accept credit cards (purchases must be $5 or more).
Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers available
The Greenbrier County Committee on Aging now has vouchers available for the 2024 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Vouchers are available at the following locations:
- Western Greenbrier Senior Center, 284 Greenbrier Street Rupert 304-392-5138. Monday through Friday 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
- Eastern Greenbrier Senior Center, 150 Taylor Lane Fairlea 304-645-1978. Monday through Friday. 8 to 10 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
Must be at least 60 years of age and meet income guidelines. Bring ID with proof of age.
