AHMH’s June/July schedule

American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, is a nonprofit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicap accessible. No alcohol & no smoking. All music nights doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. (Food & drinks supplied by audience.) Union Rescue Gospel Sing/Auction

On Saturday, June 18 a Gospel Sing/Auction to benefit Union Rescue will be held at COG Fellowship Center, Bud Ridge Road, Union, featuring singers: Eades Mountain Boys, Faith Is, Dewey Radford, Donna O’Neill, Penny Radford, Richard Cruz, Leonard Woods and more. Lewisburg City Hall

will be closed Monday, June 20 in observance of West Virginia Day. The City will not pick up recycling Monday; the recycling schedule will be as follows: Monday customers on Tuesday, June 21; Tuesday customers on Wednesday, June 22; Wednesday customers on Thursday, June 23; and Thursday and Friday customers on Friday, June 23. Greenbrier Valley Solid Waste will pick up regular trash on their normal schedule Monday through Friday.

MTA closed Monday

Mountain Transit Authority buses will not operate Monday, June 20, due to driver training. Regular operations will resume Tuesday, June 21. Call 304-872-5872 for schedule information.

Mountain Transit Authority meeting

The Mountain Transit Authority Board of Directors will hold its next regular meeting Wednesday, June 22 at the MTA garage/office facility on Broad Street in Summersville. The meeting will begin with a special meeting at 4 p.m. for employee reviews; regular meeting will begin at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Greenbrier Valley Breast Cancer Support Group

Down On The Farm / All About Kids

Schwimmer exhibit at Visitors Center

Shoshanna Schwimmer’s Fabric & More exhibit is on display at the Lewisburg Visitors Center throughout June. Inspired by nature and the joy of colors, Schwimmer uses everything from fabrics, ribbons and beads to feathers and costume jewelry, to satisfy her sense of beauty. Schwimmer’s work can be found at art shows and the GVT auction, and in private collections in the US and Canada. The Visitors Center, 200 W. Washington Street (304-645-1000) is open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Summer Reading at Rupert Public Library

GC Circuit Riders meet at Shoney’s

If you ride a motorcycle and would like to integrate your passion for riding with your passion for spreading the Word of God you might be interested in the Christian Motorcyclist Association. The Greenbrier Valley Circuit Riders is a well-established Chapter that has been going strong and growing for the past 15 years. We invite you to our monthly meetings at Shoney’s in Lewisburg the first Tuesday of every month at 7 o’clock. We typically discuss upcoming rides, evangelistic ministry opportunities and enjoy fun and fellowship with our members.
