The Rupert Public Library invites everyone to their quilt show, May 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. Join us for fun, games and refreshments!
Republican Club to meet
The Greenbrier County Republican Club will have its June monthly meeting on Thursday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Cook’s Country Kitchen in Hart’s Run. The speaker will be Kent Leonhardt, Agriculture Commissioner, who is expected to talk about the mission of the Agriculture Department, his plans for the current term of office, and how recent federal and state legislation will affect West Virginia’s farmers and agriculture. There will be time for questions. Plans for the booth for the State Fair will be discussed as well as the Republican Scholarship Fund. The public is invited and all are encouraged to come early to enjoy a meal and fellowship in the dining room.
Greenbrier Artists works on display at Library
Every two months Greenbrier Artists display paintings at Lewisburg Public Library. During May and June, Lillian Posselt and Becky Romine will be displaying their watercolor paintings. If you are interested in art, Greenbrier Artists meet at Carnegie Hall every Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Burning Season Guidelines
Burning season dates are from Mar. 1 through May 31 and Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. Burning is prohibited during burning season from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. If burning has occurred during permitted hours (5 p.m. to 7 a.m.), the fire must be completely extinguished by 7 a.m. Burning season prohibitions exclude small fires for the purpose of food preparation, warmth or light around which all grass, brush, stubble or debris has been removed for at least 10 feet from the fire and burning which is conducted at any time when the ground surrounding the burning site is covered by one inch of snow or more.
