Dollar sale at Williamsburg Thrift Shop

July 17 through Aug. 29 (all you can put in a plastic grocery bag for $1). Store hours: Fridays 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Except July 25 – store hours 12 noon – 2 p.m. The Thrift Shop is located in the “Old Williamsburg Community School,” downtown Williamsburg. Friends of the Lower Greenbrier River

would like to invite you to join them for RiverFest, a river celebration day, this Saturday, July 18 at 5:30. The event will be held at the Greenbrier River Campground on Rt. 63, outside of Alderson. Admission is $20 adults and $10 children 12 and under. A picnic buffet will be provided by Burnout BBQ. Festivities will include games, a rubber ducky race, a silent auction, and music by celebrated local musician Gyasi Heus. AHMH’s July/August schedule

American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte (website: www.americanheritagemusichall.org) is a nonprofit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicapped accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights schedule: door opens at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. Free School Supplies

Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 810 North Jefferson Street, Lewisburg, will be giving away school supplies Saturday, July 25, beginning at 9 a.m. The supplies will be given on a first come first served basis while supplies last. To receive supplies the child must be present, enrolled in school for 2015-16 school year and accompanied by an adult. Questions – call 304-992-2365.

Book Sale at Greenbrier Co. Public Library

is set for Aug. 7 and 8 during the Literary Festival in Lewisburg. Hours: Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

AA meetings

are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.

NarAnon meetings

are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Call Susan at 304-646-6506 for more information.

Weekly Al-Anon meeting

is held every Thursday, 7-8 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Enter at back door (Lee Street entrance). Al-Anon is a 12-step organization for family and friends of people with alcohol problems. For information call Sue at 304-646-6506 or Dee at 304-667-1766.

The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join.
