The Last Bluegrass Supper

Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc. invites the community to The Last Bluegrass Supper, Friday, May 29, from 6-9 p.m. Supper at 6 p.m. – Desserts at 7:30, music until 9 p.m. Please bring a favorite veggie dish to share! It’s FREE! It’s FUN! Open to the community! Come prepared to have a good time!

Quilt Show & Baked Steak Dinner

The Alderson Quilt and Craft Club will have a free showing of quilts Sunday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Alderson Community Center Gym in Alderson. Also, the Community Center’s annual spring Baked Steak Dinner will be held Sunday, May 31, in the kitchen/home ec area from 11:30 .am. to 2 p.m. Along with baked steak, the menu will include mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry salad, hot homemade rolls, cake or cobbler, and iced tea or coffee. The cost of the dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Take out is available. For home delivery, please call 304-661-0290 by May 30. All proceeds go toward improvement of the Alderson Community Center.

Local author book signing on First Friday

Eric Fritzius offers up chilling tales for summer in A Consternation of Monsters. As part of First Friday festivities on June 5, local author Eric Fritzius will be signing copies of his new collection of short horror/fantasy fiction, A Consternation of Monsters, from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Open Book bookstore, 113 E. Washington Street, in downtown Lewisburg.

AHMH’s June schedule

American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte (website: www.americanheritagemusichall.org) is a non-profit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicapped accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights schedule: door opens at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. (Food & drinks supplied by the audience.) • Tuesdays: June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. • Saturday, June 27: “Steele Country Band.”

Narconon

AA meetings

are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 S. Court, Lewisburg at 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.

NarAnon meetings

are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons effected by someone else’s addiction. Contact Susan at 304-646-6506 for more information.

Weekly Al-Anon meeting

is held every Thursday, 7-8 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Enter at back door (Lee Street entrance). Al-Anon is a 12-step organization for family and friends of people with alcohol problems. For information call Sue at 304-646-6506 or Dee at 304-667-1766.

The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join.
