‘With Open Arms’ at Trillium

May 8-10: “With Open Arms,” a dance, music and movement theatre concert presented by Trillium Performing Arts at the Historic Lewis Theatre, 113 N. Court Street, Lewisburg. Tickets $15/$10 online at trilliumperformingarts.org, at the office or 304-645-3003.

‘Stamp Out Hunger’

On Saturday, May 9, letter carriers across the country will be collecting non-perishable foods to help feed local families. Place donation by mailbox for letter carrier to deliver to a local food bank.

Spring Shopping Bash at Library

Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Lewisburg Library basement – shop for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries – it’s all covered. More than 20 vendors including: Scentsy, Younique, Jamberry, Thirty-One, Advocare, Chloe and Isabel Jewelry, My Heart’s Delight and more.

Clean up at Montwell Park

The partners of Montwell Park invite the community to participate in a clean-up day on Saturday, May 9, beginning at 10 a.m. Volunteers will help to clear brush and clean up trash in order to help beautify the space that used to house the Fort Savannah Inn. There will be a barbecue lunch for all volunteers. Montwell Park partners include Country Roads Crossfit, The GROW Foundation, Hill and Holler Bike Works, High Rocks and the Greenbrier Valley Restoration Project. Any assistance is appreciated.

AHMH’s Upcoming schedule

American Heritage Music Hall at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte (website: www.americanheritagemusichall.org) is a non-profit organization (Ref. IRS 501(c)3) and handicapped accessible. No alcohol and no smoking. All music nights schedule: door opens at 6 p.m., music starts at 7 to 10:30. Break at 8 p.m. for announcements and food. (Food & drinks supplied by the audience.) • Tuesdays: May 5, 12, 19 and 26, June 2, 9 16, 23 and 30. • Saturday, May 23: “Country Proud.” • Saturday, June 27: “Steele Country Band.”

AARP Driver Safety Program

Shepherd’s Center of Greenbrier Valley is once again in partnership with AARP to bring a Driver Safety Program to local citizens, age 50 or older, interested in refreshing their driving skills and saving on vehicle insurance. Instructor Troy Holbrook will conduct the class on Tuesday, May 12, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church.

Fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. The course will focus on physical changes as we age, as well as changes in vehicles, roads, and highways throughout the years. WV law provides for at least a five percent reduction in insurance premiums after the completion of this course. Lunch will be on your own. The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For more information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
