Baked Steak Dinner in Williamsburg

An “old fashioned” Baked Steak Dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 14 from 4-7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building. Bring your sweetheart and enjoy baked steak/gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, bread/rolls, a variety of homemade desserts, tea/coffee. Lewisburg City Hall

will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, in observance cf Presidents’ Day. The City of Lewisburg will not pick up Recycling on Monday, Feb. 16. The Recycling pickup schedule will be as follows: Monday customers – pick up is on Tuesday, Feb. 17; Tuesday customers – pick up is on Wednesday, Feb. 18; Wednesday customers – pick up is on Thursday, Feb. 19;

Thursday and Friday customers – pick up is on Friday, Feb. 20. Greenbrier Valley Solid Waste will operate on their normal schedule, picking up regular trash Monday through Friday.

The MTA Board of Directors

will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. at the MTA office/garage facility in Summersville. The public is invited to attend. AHMH’s February schedule

Tuesday Jam Sessions at the American Heritage Music Hall (AHMH) at Island Park, 315 Monroe Avenue, Ronceverte, have moved to every Friday night, Feb. 13, 20, 27 and Mar. 6 and 13, from 7 to 10/10:30 p.m. each evening. Doors open at 6, music starts at 7 p.m. Admission: Tuesdays $7 each; dance night $10 each. In February, the dance will be held Saturday, Feb. 28 and will feature the Lilly Mountaineers (from the Beckley area). The dance in March will be held Mar. 28 featuring Bill Evans & The Night Riders. Admission includes food, coffee and soft drinks brought in by the audience and donated to the music hall to share with everyone. (Bring your favorite snack to share.) Breast Cancer Support Group

Shooting Match in Williamsburg

Williamsburg Volunteer Rescue Squad will hold a shooting match Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Williamsburg Community Center, Williamsburg. The Match will begin at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available: hot dogs, barbecue, baked goods and more. There will be monetary prizes. $2 per shot, 8 rounds, last round 50/50 at $5 per shot. 12 gauge shotguns only. The event is sponsored by the Williamsburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. Wellspring of Greenbrier, Inc.

will host a Household Event for low income families Feb. 24-25-26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please register your family at the Wellspring Center- Rt. 60, Rupert, on the day of the event. Sheets, pillow cases, blankets, comforters, towels washcloths, kitchen towels, etc. The Wellspring Center is located next to Rupert City Hall.

North Central Community Action has partnered with the IRS to provide free tax filing services. If your household income is less than $60,000 a year and you have a simple tax return such as a 1040 or a 1040A, you are welcome to go to myfreetaxes.com click on the gold “File Now” box to complete your state and federal tax returns at no charge to you. There is a 24 hour support line on the website. If you do not have access to the internet, you may call to set up an appointment to use the computers at our office for you to prepare your taxes. Weekly Al-Anon meeting

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fees to join.
