The Bluebell Garden Club met on the first day of spring, Mar. 20, at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Members Lucy Bell and Janice Duncan gave a timely presentation on a container gardening technique known as “layering” or “lasagne” planting with spring-planted bulbs (gladiolus, liatris, and dahlia tubers) for a colorful summer display. The finished planter is being donated to the Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
Also at the meeting, new officers were installed. Outgoing President Jan DeHaven presented the new President Linda C. Spencer with the ceremonial Bluebell Cowbell which was painted by former President, the late Sue DuCharme, to ring meetings to order.
