Betty Jo Elmore, 65, of Alderson passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Charleson Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, in Charleston following a short illness. She was born Apr. 4, 1960, in Union, a daughter of the late James Richard and Wanda Blanch (Tingler) Fisher.
Betty graduated from Union High School in 1979 and worked as a cook for many years before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She will be remembered for her passion for canning food, observing birds, solving crossword puzzles, and most importantly, cherishing time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Emily Blanch Wilson and her husband James and Jonie Marie Lambert, both of Alderson; her son, Kenny Lee Elmore, of Union; her brother, James Fisher, of Wolf Creek; her sister, Lorri Dumbar and her companion Charles Dempsey, of Alderson; her grandchildren, Brooke Elmore, Whitney Elmore, Makayla Elmore, Destiney Wilson, Kinsley Wilson, Kendra Lambert, Ethan and Austin Wilson; her great grandchildren, Gwendolyn Davis, Avery Lambert, Oaklyn Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Ruby Lephew, her brothers, Donald Fisher and Andy Fisher.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the PICU nurses at CAMC Memorial who provided medical care to Betty.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Lobban Funeral Home, 205 S. Monroe Street, Alderson, on Monday, May 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. In keeping with her wishes, Betty will be cremated following the Visitation.
