After almost 15 years, the beloved Bella the Corner Gourmet has new owners. Ginger Steele-Giggenbach and her husband, Christian Giggenbach, who also own The Little Black Box, are thrilled to embark on this new adventure with such a well-established business.
Ginger, who has an extensive background in the food industry, noted that many may not be aware of her experience. Before launching The Little Black Box, she contemplated opening a coffee shop or a small food establishment but decided to explore a different path. Although she enjoys her venture in lingerie, her passion for food ultimately drew her to purchase a second business, Bella the Corner Gourmet. When she learned that Tamera Pence was selling Bella, she was overjoyed. Ginger has always had a fondness for culinary delights and kitchen gadgets, and she recognized the exceptional foundation Tamera had built.
In 2020, Ginger relocated The Little Black Box to downtown Lewisburg, allowing her to connect with the Lewisburg Downtown Business Association (LBDA). Through this network, she met other downtown business owners, including Tamera Pence, and witnessed firsthand how Bella thrived over the past four years, making the acquisition even more meaningful.
Ginger indicated that, given Bella’s strong reputation, the main changes they plan to implement will involve expanding the food offerings. “Everything is already fantastic; there’s no need to change anything else,” she said. Ginger and Christian, who will be managing Bella, will introduce a variety of gourmet food items, including made-to-order charcuterie boards and ready-to-cook items like pasta. They have also extended the shop’s hours. Bella will now be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sundays. Additionally, once a week, the talented chef Carol will host “Sundays with Chef Carol.”
During the holiday season, Bella will remain open until 7 p.m. on weekdays, as Ginger believes it’s an ideal place for holiday gifting. “When you’re struggling to find the perfect gift, you can’t go wrong with a new kitchen gadget,” she said.
Bella will close for remodeling during the first two weeks of January.
A common concern among locals is the safety of the building due to potential vehicle crashes. Ginger mentioned that the building’s owner is working on a solution to prevent vehicles from crossing onto the sidewalk and encroaching on the building.
Ginger and Christian are excited to begin this journey and invite everyone to visit Bella the Corner Gourmet for delicious snacks, made-to-order party foods, kitchen items, gifts, and much more.
