Art and Craft Show cancelled

It is with much sadness that Edgewood Presbyterian Church voted unanimously on June 28 to cancel the Art and Craft Show scheduled to be held in October of 2020 at the State Fair Event Center.

This decision was not made in haste, and it was made for a number of reasons:

  1. COVID-19 cases are increasing in Greenbrier County as well as the state of West Virginia. As a matter of fact, COVID cases in our country have seen the largest increases over this past weekend since the pandemic started.
  2. The State Fair of West Virginia has been cancelled.
  3. The CDC does not recommend large in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least six feet apart, attendees travel from outside the local area, and the gathering is held indoors.
  4. We believe it would have been impossible to safely host all areas of this show.

The safety and health of vendors, visitors, church members, and friends comes first, and, we believe the safety and health of all might have been compromised due to the pandemic situation this year.

We hope to have the show in 2021 and have already reserved the dates of Oct. 8-10. We sincerely hope that you will put these dates on your calendar and join us in 2021.
