The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM)will welcome John W. Becher, D.O., president of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as its keynote speaker during the school’s 39th annual commencement ceremony.
Becher will deliver the speech during the 9:30 a.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 28, on the WVSOM campus in Lewisburg.
Becher is board certified in emergency medicine. He is from Newtown Square, PA, and is the 119th president of the AOA. He serves as chairman of the department of emergency medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated from in 1970. He is also director of osteopathic medical education at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ, and an adjunct professor of emergency medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
