An annual tradition in the city of Ronceverte, the Presbyterian Church is once again hosting the Candlelight Service at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21.

“People start contacting us in October to ask when this year’s candlelight service will be,” explains Rev. Stephen Baldwin. “It’s a Ronceverte tradition going back decades!” Rodger and Leah Trent will provide musical leadership alongside special guest Jean Hein. Additionally, local residents Doug Hylton and Liz Altizer will sing solos.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 11 p.m., the Christmas Eve Service also returns. Children are welcome and included in the service. Dress is very casual. Rev. Baldwin says of the late night service, “People of every age and denomination come to this service, because there’s no better place to be on Christmas Eve. Those first quiet moments of Christmas when the bell tolls midnight are hauntingly beautiful.”

Ronceverte Presbyterian Church is located at 305 Locust Street in Ronceverte. They belong to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and hold worship at 11 a.m. on Sundays. For more information, please visit: www.RoncevertePres.org or call 304-647-4400.
