Delegate Ray Canterbury (left), 3rd District Congressman Evan Jenkins, Delegate George Ambler, Attorney General Patrick Morressey, Supreme Court Justice Brent Benjamin and former State WVGOP Chairman Dr. Doug McKinneyOver 100 people attended the annual Republican Reagan Day Dinner sponsored by the Greenbrier County Republican Club Saturday night at the Quality Inn Banquet Room. Keynote speaker for the event was The Honorable Evan Jenkins, US Congressman for the 3rd District. Congressman Jenkins who as a freshman Congressman is serving on the prestigious House Appropriations Committee. Other attendees included: WV Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, WV Supreme Court of Appeals Justice Brent Benjamin, Delegate Ray Canterbury and Delegate George “Boogie” Ambler, as well as County Commissioners Mike McClung, Lowell Rose and County Prosecutor Patrick Via. Matt Dailer, WVGOP ex director also attended the event.All present enjoyed a special treat of a medley of songs including the National Anthem rendered by violinist Claire Dent. A delicious meal was catered by The Mason Jar of White Sulphur Springs. Rev. John Wyatt gave the invocation. The Honorable Bill Wallace provided lighthearted entertainment while serving as the emcee.
The meeting was closed with the announcement of the winners of the silent auction items and by a rousing rendition of God Bless the USA performed by vocalist Nancy Miller and the benediction by Pat Via.
The Greenbrier County Republican Club meets at 7 p.m. in the County Courthouse the first Thursday of each month. Everyone is welcome.
