[caption id="attachment_33567" align="aligncenter" width="800"]<img class="size-full wp-image-33567" src="https:\/\/mountainmedianews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2018\/07\/America-in-Bloom-pic-Photo-credits-to-Lewisburg-in-Bloom-Committee-Facebooks-page.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" \/> Photo credits to Lewisburg in Bloom Committee Facebooks page[\/caption]\r\n<h1>Professional volunteer judges from the America in Bloom (AIB) national awards program will visit Lewisburg on July 12 and 13.<\/h1>\r\nLewisburg has a history of excellence as an America in Bloom participant since 2014, and it is one of the many proud and passionate communities across America working on local revitalization programs with an eye to receiving a prestigious America in Bloom national award.\r\n\r\nIn addition to a receiving detailed written evaluation from the judges citing strengths and opportunities for improvement, participants a special mention for what the judges deem to be an extraordinary project or program.\r\n\r\nAdditional awards that can be earned are as follows:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Outstanding achievement award \u2013 the \u201cbest of the best\u201d over all participants in each of the evaluated criteria<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Special awards<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Community Champion<\/li>\r\n \t<li>YouTube Video<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nOutstanding communities are invited to participate in international competition via the Communities in Bloom program in Canada. Judges will be evaluating the community\u2019s efforts in the areas of flowers, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, celebrating heritage, community vitality, and overall impression. The judging team members are Tony Ferrara and Steve Zwiep.\r\n\r\nTo date, more than 250 communities from 45 states have participated in the program and more than 22 million people have been touched by it. Awards will be announced on September 27-29 at AIB\u2019s National Symposium & Awards Celebration, held this year in Lexington, Kentucky.\r\n\r\nAmerica in Bloom is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting nationwide beautification programs and personal and community involvement through the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. America in Bloom provides educational programs, resources, and the challenge of a friendly competition between participating communities across the country.
