The Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter will host a new monthly support group on Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. at The Seasons Senior Living Community 331 Holt Lane Lewisburg. The group is for individuals who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Beginning in December, the group meetings will continue to meet at the same time and location every first Tuesday of the month.
The Alzheimer’s Association’s support groups are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. Support Groups help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems faced when caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease. Groups encourage caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health, as well as optimally care for the person with dementia.
