The Greenbrier County Airport Authority announced at its Tuesday meeting that Jeff Kmiec had resigned from his post on the board. Authority Chairman Lowell Rose received the resignation by email.
Kmiec represented The Greenbrier’s interest on the board. There is no word yet on who will take his place.

Governor Tomblin has extended the State of Emergency for Clay, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas and Webster counties following June’s flooding. The designation allows for continued state resources to support residents and communities.
The State of Emergency for Fayette, Roane and Summers counties expired on Sept. 21.
Residents affected by the flooding and in need of assistance are encouraged to visit wvflood.com.

The film “Hidden Figures” is set to tell the story of three African American women who worked as “human computers” for NASA, including White Sulphur Springs native Katherine Johnson, who is 9 ears old.
Johnson is set to be played by Taraji P. Henson. The Fox film studio movie is scheduled for wide release in January 2017.
