A missing boater has been found safe and in fine condition after a search call went out on Saturday evening in the Anthony area of the Greenbrier River. Multiple first responders were on the scene, including the Lewisburg Water Rescue Team with divers to assist in the search. Dispatchers say the boater went missing around 5:30 p.m. and was believed to have been in the water in the Renick area.

Davis-Stuart Inc., a private nonprofit organization providing residential care and services for teens, has received a grant from the Mission Division of First Presbyterian Church in Charleston. The $8,000 grant will support the Spiritual Life program at Davis-Stuart, which was originally established as a Presbyterian orphanage but now operates as a private nonprofit to provide a stable environment where young people can grow and learn. According to a Davis-Stuart press release, the program “helps to ensure the teens are making positive strides within themselves, their families and the communities to which they will return.”
Davis-Stuart’s main campus is in Lewisburg, with group homes in Beckley, Bluefield, Maxwelton and Princeton.
