Alice Pearl Johnson Burns

Frankford-Alice Pearl Johnson Burns, 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.

Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Trout, WV, she was the first daughter of William Kenna and Lottie Eunice (Sizemore) Johnson.

Alice was a 1,944 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as a Fingerprint File Supervisor. Alice, and her husband Paul, moved to Frankford where she enjoyed her retirement years near family and friends.

Preceding her in death were: her parents; her husband of 57-1/2 years, Paul Stalnaker Burns; her beloved stepfather, Waldo W. Lewis; three brothers, Anthony Earl Johnson, Samuel Alvin Johnson and William Kenna Johnson, Jr. and wife Mary; and two sisters, Ada Frances Johnson and Audrey Mae Clowser.

Alice is survived by: two sons, Carry E. and wife Judy of Trout and Steven R. and wife Hannah of Port Republic, VA; four grandchildren, Isaac and wife Ashley of Raleigh, NC, Sara Tate and husband Andrew of Morgantown and Kendra and Eli of Port Republic, VA; great-grandson, Silas of Raleigh, NC; sisters-in-law, Connie Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA and Margie Johnson of Urbana, IL; brother-in-law, Alfred Clowser and wife Via of Lewisburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial will be in the McMillion Church Cemetery, Friars Hill, following the service.

Friends may call Friday, June 5, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel of Lewisburg from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made, in memory of Alice J. Burns, to the Cemetery Fund at McMillion United Methodist Church, 358 McMillion Church Road, Renick, WV 24966.
