Alice “Ann” Yearego, 89, of Rainelle went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Ann was born on June 8, 1936, in Bingham, WV, and the daughter of the late Albert and Lovie (Nutter) Alley.

She was a member of Sewell Valley Baptist Church for 44 years where she and her husband, Pastor Jim Yearego taught children’s junior church for many years. They touched many little lives through their ministry that was very dear to their hearts.

Ann owned and operated the Sears & Roebuck Store in Rainelle for several years. She worked in medical records at Rainelle Nursing Home where she retired after 20 years.

Ann anxiously awaited the day she would be reunited with her husband of 68 years, Pastor Jim Yearego, her daughter Vicky Jones, grandson Donald James Yearego, brothers Bernard Alley, Bobby Alley, Howard Alley and sister Jean (Alley) Henson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Rick Yearego and wife Donna, who was also Ann’s caregiver for the past few years; grandchildren Richard, Shawn, Stacey, Summer, Camren, May, Mario, Josh, Kynlea, Gabby, Bella, Katie, 11 great-grandchildren and one brother Donnie Alley of North Carolina.

The family would like to thank Ann’s caregiver, Bonnie Brackenridge for her dedicated love and care.

Funeral Services will be at Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle, Friday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. with pastor Fred Fryar officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where Anne will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Smathers Funeral Chapel is honored to have been entrusted to care for Ann and her family during their great time of need.

Online condolences may be made at www.smathersfuneralchapel.com.
