I wanted to share a personal and positive story about the Alderson prison in West Virginia, and a unique story because I’m open and have gone public about my birth inside the prison.
My incarcerated mother’s story is like many today, and my memoir, Prison Baby, was released just last month, with wonderful support of positive reviews and Public Radio interviews. The book is about the positive outcome that can happen from a fractured beginning such as this.
My goal is to put a face to the families of the women and help bring public awareness for more compassion. Today I work in prisons across the country as a motivational speaker.
