Children’s paintings with a strawberry theme will be sprouting up all over Alderson in advance of Alderson’s second annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The art displays are not a contest, but there is a contest for best strawberry dessert, with a youth category. Children’s activities include a walking parade for strawberry-themed costumes, 4-H petting zoo, plant-a-sunflower with Sunset Berry Farms, hay maze, face painting, crazy straw contest, and more.

Major sponsors for the festival include Sunset Berry Farms, Stuart’s Smokehouse, Greenbrier Valley Health Alliance, Rainelle Medical Center, and the Greenbrier County Arts and Recreation Committee.
