Energy Express not only provides learning opportunities and nutrition for children for the summer months, but also provides service to the community. In addition to working with children, Energy Express site teams are required to do a community service project while serving in the program. The Alderson site team decided to provide pre-packaged snacks for children on Fridays so that they will have nutritious food to eat over the weekend. Alderson Energy Express works with Lewisburg United Methodist Church, WV University Extension Office, and the other two Energy Express sites in Greenbrier County.
