Airman First Class Ryan H. Dowdy completes basic training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Ryan H. Dowdy graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, TX.

Dowdy completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Ryan is the son of Jeremy Dowdy and Elizabeth Holliday and stepson of Darrell Holliday and Jessica Dowdy of White Sulphur Springs. He is also the grandson of Corbet Johnson of Huntington, Jerry Dowdy and Jane Ramsey of White Sulphur Springs, and Nancy Boothe of Crows, VA.

The airman is a 2014 graduate of Greenbrier East High School, Fairlea.
