Aileen Ruth Lowe Browning

Alderson-Aileen Ruth Lowe Browning, 88, of Alderson and Logan, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at the Brier, Ronceverte, following an extended illness.
Born May 30, 1927, in Yolyn, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ben F. and Annie B. Neace Lowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 48 years, Emory Sherman Browning, Sr; daughter, Carrie Ruth Hahnenberg; two sisters, Zella Mae Porter and Pearl Carter; and four brothers, Woodrow Lowe, Arnold Lowe, Hubert Lowe and Arthur Lowe.
Mrs. Browning was a retired Logan County Field Deputy Assessor. She was a 1946 graduate of Logan High School, Logan, and a former member of the Logan County Democrat Executive Committee. Mrs. Browning attended the Mt. View Baptist Church, Alderson and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include: son, Emory S. “Ross” Browning, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Dawson; two daughters, Dr. Tamela D. Ferguson and companion Robert Rummell of Lafayette, LA and Leisha Shaver and husband Karl “Chuck” of Alderson; sister, Virginia McCoy of Gainesville, FL; brother, Ben F. Lowe of Yolyn; 11 grandchildren, Kirsten Jenne and husband Donald of Royal Oak, MI, Joseph Hahnenberg and wife Andrea of White Lake, MI, Jeffrey Hahnenberg of Clarkston, MI, Lindsey Browning and husband Bryan Hebert of Austin, TX, Christopher Porter and Brandon Jerrell of Lafayette, LA, Stephanie Shaver of Burlington, VT, Jason Browning of Dawson, Kaitlyn Shaver of Alderson, Jared Browning of Dawson and Karlei Shaver of Alderson; five great-grandchildren, Heather Hahnenberg and Cody and Holly Jenne of Royal Oak, MI, Anthony Hahnenberg of White Lake, MI and Lance Corporal Andrew Hahnenberg of Norfolk, VA; great-great-granddaughter, Reagan Hahnenberg of Royal Oak, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 21, at the Honaker Funeral Home, Logan, where Pastor James Combs officiated. Entombment followed at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Godby. Visitation was Sunday evening, Sept. 20, at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson, and Monday, Sept. 21, before the service at the Honaker Funeral Home, Logan.
Grandchildren served as pallbearers.
