Following extremely cold temperatures last weekend during the inaugural Christmas at the Cedars event in Alderson, the event hosts have decided to extend the holiday magic for just one more day, this Saturday, Dec. 20, from 12 noon to 8 p.m.
Located at 352 Hemlock Avenue E. in Alderson, Christmas at the Cedars is a brand-new holiday extravaganza, and is the brainchild of the property’s owners Rachel Warner-Baker and her husband Jayson Baker.
“This will be just as big as our original event, and maybe even a little smoother as we’ve worked out the bumps now,” they say in their social media announcement.
On Saturday, there will be a giant vendor market in their historic barn, professional Santa photos, tractor rides, concessions, Christmas trees for sale, a mercantile, games, movies, bonfires, s’mores and charcuterie boards for roasting, a petting zoo, a weather-dependent snow play area, and over a quarter-million Christmas lights installed around the property.
“This week we will have handicap shuttling offered from our free parking lot via ATV, but please remember this is still an agritourism event, and that there is a lot of walking involved. Please leave all pets at home for the safety of our guests and our own farm animals.”
Admission is $15 for age 10 and up, $12 for children age 3 through 9, and children age 2 and under are admitted for free. Visit “The Cedars Farm and Events” on Facebook for more information.
