Lonnie Thomas Campbell
White Sulphur Springs-Lonnie Thomas Campbell, 70, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, from a fall out of a tree.
Born Oct. 30, 1944, he was a son of the late Joe and Frances Campbell.
Lonnie was a member of the Wild Meadow Baptist Church and a retired military veteran of Vietnam. Before retiring, he worked for the WV Department of Highways.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Delores Jean Stull Campbell; brother, Joseph Campbell; and nephew, Justin Baker.
Surviving are: five sisters, Sarah Louise Clonche, Helen Knighton, both of White Sulphur Springs, Geneva Thomas of Fayetteville, Ella Mae Graham (Donald) of Covington, VA and JoAnn Baker (Leon) of White Sulphur Springs; nephews, Billy Joe Clonche, Donnie Graham, Delmas Graham and Michael Baker; two great-nephews, Chase and Jacob; and his beloved cat, Angel.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Wild Meadow Baptist Church, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Garrett Bostic and Rev. Lowell O’Dell officiated. Burial followed in Mapledale Cemetery, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation was held Monday evening, Jan. 19, at the church.
Pallbearers were: Billy Joe Clonche, Donnie Graham, Delmas Graham, Michael Baker, Chuck Clendenen, Wayne Morris, Gregory Hatcher, and Cody O’Dell.
