Shelby Jean Bryant, 88, of Rainelle passed away on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1936, at East Rainelle, the daughter of the late Omer Edward Carr and Virginia Gwinn Carr.

Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, James E. “Jim” Bryant.

Shelby was a member of Rainelle United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, she was also a Cub Scout Leader. She ran her husband’s mining company for years. She was a huge golf enthusiast, a bowler and an avid water-color artist.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons: Mark Bryant and Greg Bryant and wife Melissa; brother, Gary Carr and wife Joni; two grandchildren: Jaqueline Hickman and husband Bernard and Megan Bryant and Adam Rexroad ; great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Theodore and Sterling Hickman.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, at Wallace Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greenbrier Hills Golf Club, P.O. Box 611 Rainelle, WV 25962
