The public is invited to join the Greenbrier River Watershed Association for a Plant ID Walk along the Greenbrier River this Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. We will meet at the second parking area (the larger one to the North) at the Greenbrier River Trail, at Caldwell. Coffee, tea, water and muffins will be available before we start. Free native flower seed packets are available for all participants! Bring your camera and binoculars.
This event is sponsored by the Greenbrier River Watershed Association and will be led by Bella Walker, Appalachian Headwaters’ Native Plant Program Director. Bella focuses on engaging the community in native landscapes; offering educational greenhouse and garden workshops, botanical tours and of course, locally-collected seed-grown native plants. David Ahakinian as co-lead, is a propagator and native plant specialist also at Appalachian Headwaters. He earned his BS in Plant Science from Penn State University, and loves playing a role in the recreation of wildlife habitat.
