Greenbrier County Schools held the annual Battle of the Books competitions this week. It was the 33rd year for Elementary school competitions and 18th for Middle School competitions. Students at all nine Greenbrier County elementary and two middle schools, plus three Pocahontas County elementary school teams and two middle school teams, “battled” it out last week. This competition involves students reading six books and then competing in a “quiz bowl” type game.
