The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass schedules for the Catholic Churches of Eastern Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Bath counties have been announced, according to Perk Berry of White Sulphur Springs, grand knight of the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus, the area’s Catholic men’s organization.
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, U.S. 60 West, White Sulphur Springs, will have a 5 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass and a 10 a.m. Christmas Day Mass while St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, WV 63 at Walnut Street, Ronceverte, will have a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass and a 10 a.m. Mass on Christmas Day.
St. Charles Borromeo Church serves the eastern part of Greenbrier, the western part of Alleghany, and the northeastern part of Monroe County while St. Catherine of Siena serves central Greenbrier and Monroe counties.
In Pocahontas County, Christmas Eve Masses will be held at St. Mark, the Evangelist Catholic Church at Bartow at 5:30 p.m. and at St. Bernard’s Catholic Chapel at Snowshoe at 9 p.m. Christmas Day Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Marlinton.
Nearby, in Hot Springs, Virginia, the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold Christmas Eve Masses at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Christmas Day Masses at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Shrine serves Highland and Bath County, Virginia.
Masses will also be held on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at St. Mary’s of the Greenbrier Catholic Church, Alderson; Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rainelle; St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Hinton; Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Covington, VA, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Clifton Forge, VA.
The public is welcome at all Masses and special music will be provided at each of the Masses to celebrate the Christmas Season.
