Nancy Ellen (Hawks) Bridges, age 74, of Alderson, of the Creamery community, gained her wings on Friday, Mar. 21, 2025, and now walks with Jesus. She was born on Jan. 1, 1951, in Red Sulphur Springs, WV, a daughter of the late Jack Harlow Hawks and Nellie Gray (Ford) Hawks Hulsey.
She will be forever known for her fierce love of her family. Nancy was an amazing woman of God with a passion for being a prayer warrior. After her children were grown Nancy’s love for helping others continued by opening her home to foster several children. She will be remembered for her love of singing and reading her bible. She was a devout member of the River of Life Church of God, where she also served as the church clerk.
Those left to cherish her Memory, her loving husband of 38 years, Donald Dee Bridges. The couple got married on Oct. 14, 1986.
She is also survived by her daughters, Kim Neice and her husband Rickie, of Pearisburg, VA, Tracy Brown and her husband Travis, of Queen Creek, AZ, April Huffman and her husband Ronald, of Creamery, and her faithful dog Dudley; her grandchildren, John Ferguson, Courtney and Billy Ferguson, Lauren Conaway, Edward Chance and his wife Maria, Holly Huffman and her companion Jen Grunska, Ariel Lester and her husband Tyler, Garrett Huffman, Cheyenne Huffman; her great-grandchildren, Lily Conaway, Brody Conaway, Hudson Lester; her bonus grandchildren, Kaylee Cruise, Ann Neice, Natalie Brown, Ethan and Summer Brown; her bonus great grandchildren, Kayne and Kamaria Bessman, Isaiah, Erazah, Jeremiah, Alizah Grunska; her sister, Wilma Grimmett, of Jumping Branch, her Brothers, Jay Hawks and his wife Kay, of Clover, SC, George Hawks, of Warm Springs, VA; her brother in law, Joe Brown, Clover, SC, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Barlow Hawks, her sister Lela Brown, and her half-sister Alice Ambrose.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Mar. 29, at 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God in Alderson, with the Pastor Anthony Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the C. H. Huffman Cemetery at Creamery, WV. Friends may call Saturday, Mar. 29, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the River of Life Church of God, 485 Highland Trail, Alderson, WV 24910.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
