Forrest Cleveland Thomas, Jr., 74, of Alderson went home to be with the lord on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at Summers County Healthcare, Hinton following a short illness.

Born Oct. 23, 1950, at Alderson, he was the son of the late Forrest Cleveland Sr. and Martha Virginia Carter Thomas.

In Addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bertha (Bunny) Reynolds and Harry (Stark) Thomas.

Forrest started his career by being a caregiver, he then worked at pence Springs Manufacturing, Kellwood Company and was a volunteer worker at Alderson Thrift Store for many years.

Forrest attended Feamster Freewill Baptist and Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his siblings Shirley (Sissy) Thomas, and her special friend Kevin Wagner, Rodney (Chops) Thomas and wife Natalie, Rodger (Babyface) Thomas and wife Betty, Louise (Weezy) Hiser and husband Frank, Betty (Bam Bam) Morgan, and Nancy (Bones) Baker and husband Dee.  Also, several nieces and nephews and special friends and caring employees of Summers County Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Fort Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Spring with Pastors Jonathan Hunt and Joey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery – Fletcher Addition in Alderson.

Visitation will be held from noon until time of service at the church in Fort Spring. Online condolences may be made at Lantzfuneralhome.com.
