Quincy William Storey, 37, of Huntington, WV, passed away on September 27, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital after an extended illness.
Quincy, affectionately known as Billy, was born to Damita Yvette Pepper and Walter Daniel Storey on March 16, 1987, in Charleston, WV. He was the little brother to Donita Pepper of Georgia and will be sorely missed by his siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a bunch of friends.
He graduated from Midland Trail High School in 2005 where he excelled in sports and was a life-long member of Mt. Chapel Baptist Church.
His infectious smile never greeted a stranger. As his sister I always asked him why he spoke to EVERYONE, his response, “Why Not” and smiled. Quincy was a natural poet that could create poems without effort. His encouraging words always came from the heart. He was not a perfect man, but then again, no man is, but he was a man full of love and optimism no matter what obstacles were placed in his path.
While Quincy left us far too soon, his absence will be felt for years to come. As Quincy’s big sister I was also his biggest supporter, advocate and at times a pain, but more than anything I will love and miss him terribly.
Throughout his entire journey he spread joy, made everyone laugh and showed remarkable strength. His humor and bravery will be missed. Thank you for being my little brother. May you rest safely and peacefully with Ma and Dad.
The family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital for their hard work, unwavering dedication and support.
