The GEHS Golf team finished first when they played against 12 other school teams for the WV Association High School Challenge held at the Lewisburg Elk’s Club in Lewisburg on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Four man teams played 18 holes and the low three scores were totaled for the team’s score. GEHS finished first with a team total of 225. Individual scores were Thomas Willis 74, Madison Erskine 75, Walker Dent 76 and Luke Hanna 84.
Medalist for the event was H. Basile 69 from George Washington HS. The other low scores were, C. Moole 72 from Roane County, Davis Scragg 73 from Poca HS, Thomas Willis 74, from GEHS, B. Hammond 74 from Elkins HS and Mason Mullens 74 from Richwood HS.
Other team totals were as follows: Roane County 228, George Washington “A” 228, Elkins “A” 236, George Washington “B” 241, Scott HS 244, Huntington East 250, Poca 251, Ritchie County 257, Webster County 263, Richwood 264, Man 270 and Elkins “B” 277
