Kaitie Shaver is going to Bluefield College. Kaitie has been a 4-year starter and lettermen at GEHS. She ended her career with 1,117 kills (only the 2nd player in school history to pass 1,000 kills) and 133 match wins (tied for the most in school history). Some of her other accomplishments include: 950 assists, 200 aces, 195 blocks and 532 digs. She also was 1st Team All-State this year along with leading our team to a State Runner-up Finish and the Sportsmanship Award for the state of WV (AAA Volleyball).
Coach Sauvage says: “Kaitie has a great work ethic, great character and skills that will push her to succeed while playing at Bluefield. It has been an honor to coach her for the past 4 years. I wish her the best of luck.”
Ellen Henthorn is going to Sewanee University. Ellen has been a 4-year starter and lettermen at GEHS. She ended her career with 1,123 digs (only three players have reached that mark in school history) and 339 aces (most in school history). She also finished her career with 703 kills and 133 match wins (tied for most in school history). She also was 2nd Team All-State this year along with leading our team to a State Runner-up Finish and the Sportsmanship Award for the state of WV (AAA Volleyball).
