White Sulphur Springs-Lydia Danese Crowder, 91, died Friday night, Apr. 18, 2014, at her residence.
Born Mar. 31, 1923, in Roxalia, she was a daughter of the late William Harland and Hallie Conway Hoke Wickline.
She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs. Mrs. Crowder was a housewife, who loved to do all needle arts, including quilting. She also loved to work with her flowers and to spend time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Roy Cecil Crowder in 1981; two grandsons, Michael Feury and Tinsley Hall; brothers, Orville Edward Wickline, Orvan Leo and Orla Orson Wickline, Earl Francis Wickline and Wilbur Lando Wickline; and sister, Iva Lee Gibson.
Survivors include: four daughters, Peggy Lyall of White Sulphur Springs, Jean Crowder Lietz of Oklahoma City, OK, Elizabeth Hall (Tinsley) of Dublin, VA and Helen Feury (Mike) of White Sulphur Springs; brother, Ralph Clayton Wickline of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Greg Lyall, Pam Callison, DeAnna Valencia, Kristina Lietz, Heidi Lietz Brown, Sherri Ireson, Kara Hall, Julie Brewster, Stephanie Feury and Sara Feury; great-grandchildren, Chance Lyall, Ashleigh Lyall, Hattie Callison, Ryan Callison, Rebekah Valencia, Matthew Valencia, Josiah Valencia, Elisha Valencia, Abigail Valencia, Joshua Ireson, Thomas Ireson, Leslie Brewster, Michael Brewster, Aaron Brewster, Hannah Brewster, Lacie Galford and Cameron Wyley; and great-great grandchildren, Cayden Wilson, Jake Wilson, Kynsleigh Brewster and Bryer Callison.
Her funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Apr. 22 in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where Rev. Ken Peters and Rev. Buck Caldwell officiated.
Interment was in McCreery Cemetery on Tuckahoe Road, White Sulphur Springs.
Visitation was one hour prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for funeral expenses.
