Ronceverte-Gloria Pearl Cooke, 81, formerly of Jessup, MD, went to be with her Lord Friday May 29, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Organ Cave with all her family by her side.
Mrs. Cooke was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late George and Pearl Eichelberger LeBon.
She was of the Pentecostal faith, had worked at the Kellwood Plant and was a homemaker.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Yvonne “Betty” Moore and Camille LeBon.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph A. Cooke, Jr.; daughters, Angela Dickson of Greenville, Maureen Lucas of Organ Cave, Sharon Brown of Jessup, MD, and Debra Kirby of Ballard; sons, Brady Ellis, Jr. of Moncove Lake, Shawn Ellis of Irwin, PA, and Joseph Cooke of Jessup, MD; brother, John LeBon of Florida; longtime friend for over 60 years, Boo Bowden of Ronceverte; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gloria were held on Monday, June 1, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastor Shawn Ellis officiated. Interment followed in Bethel Church Cemetery at Organ Cave.
The family received family and friends Sunday evening, May 31, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were: Matthew Ellis, Joseph Cooke, Danny Martin Jr., Matthew Ellis Jr., Elijah Ellis and Randy Atwell.
