Looking for some good old-fashion fun? A square dance will be held on the stage at Carnegie Hall on Apr. 17 from 7-9 p.m. featuring the music of the Juanita Fireball & The Continental Divide with caller Lou Mauri. Admission is only $5 at the door. Beginners are welcome.
Carnegie square dances are held in September, November, February, April and June of each year, featuring musicians and callers from around the region. Proud to be a part of the Mountain Music Trail, a collaborative project between five counties, which promotes traditional music, dance and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region, square dances are a part of Carnegie’s efforts to preserve the musical heritage of the Appalachian Mountains.
The Mountain Music Trail is dedicated to providing opportunities for sharing cultural experiences that bring together visitors and residents alike. To learn more about similar events in your region, visit www.mountainmusictrail.com.
