The Alderson Community Market will be open every Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m., starting Apr. 30, at the Visitor’s Center by the Greenbrier River on Route 3/12 near the old bridge.
Local vendors will be selling kale, lettuce, turnips, radishes, Choi, tomato plants, salad mix, chives, fresh herbs, pork (breakfast sausage, chemical-free bacon, chops, shoulder roasts, plain ground, Italian ground, tenderloin medallions, back fat, or lard), baked goods (biscotti, oatmeal peanut butter bars, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon pecan rolls, pepperoni rolls, sweet rolls, cinnamon raisin bread, white bread, wheat bread, multigrain bread, fruit pies, sourdough bread, raisin bread, potato herb bread, sweet breads, salt rising bread, potato yeast bread, tomato herb bread, dill bread, dinner rolls, glazed doughnuts, cinnamon twist doughnuts, assorted cakes, assorted bagels, cream horns, fruit Danishes, cookies, croissants, and gluten-free baked goods), beeswax candles, handmade soaps (including hemp oil and shea butter), homemade jams and jellies, flowers, flowering planters, and Tupperware as a fundraiser for the Alderson Public Library.
There will also be fun activities for the children and music. Several vendors will also be accepting Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Vouchers, SNAP, SNAP Stretch, and WIC cards. This is a great place to connect local growers to folks wanting good, affordable food and quality household items. This event is presented by the Alderson Community Food Hub.
