Dinners continue Mar. 15, 22, 29, and Apr. 5 and 12. Serving fried or baked tilapia along with scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, hard rolls, coffee, iced tea, sodas and lemonade along with popular and homemade desserts, the dinners are eat-in or to go each Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Ticket prices remain the same as last year – adults $12, children 5-12 $6, all you care to eat (eat in only) $15, and a family ticket (two adults, two children – eat in only) $25. Proceeds from the dinner are used to fund community, youth, service, church and major projects in the five-county area.
Rhema to host workshop
Have you ever wondered how important your work really is? Someone once said, “It’s not what a person does that makes it sacred or secular, it’s why he or she does it.” Rhema Christian Center will host a Work as Workshop small group study starting Wednesday, Mar. 6 at 7 p.m. The six-part series will challenge all of us to consider the reason God calls us to work. It will cause you to consider why He may have you in your current position and encourage you to look beyond how your job makes you feel and see purpose and significance in your work. Through powerful biblical teaching, real-life documentary stories and engaging video illustrations, this series will help us understand the biblical mandate for work. We have been called to work with excellence, integrity, and diligence, and our careers are opportunities to be on mission for Christ in the marketplace. God gives us great potential for impact on our families, churches, communities and the world through the blessing of our work. Facilitators will be Dewey Beckett and Dave Beavers. The workshop will run Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Mar. 6. Register online at therhemalife.com or call 304-645-6999.
Rhema Christian Center workshop
Join us at Rhema Christian Center for one hour a week for a yearlong workshop that covers both Leadership and Management. Yes, leadership AND management. Why is that important? Well, many times the two functions are confused as the same thing, but managing deals with systems and processes, while leadership is more about influencing the people who create and operate within those systems and processes. The program began Jan. 16 and will run through Dec. 18, every Wednesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the church. Each quarter will have a different leadership theme and we will cover one of the four functions of managing. If you can’t be here for this live training you can still be a part of it by tuning into the closed live broadcast. Request access to webcast by sending an email to giantslayer1962@yahoo.com.
