There is still time to purchase your tickets to the Gwen Clingman Memorial “Saturday Supper,” a fundraiser to help kick off Children’s Home Society’s community capital campaign to support the building of a new facility for the Lewisburg Child Shelter, a home for children in crisis.
Tickets are $12 per person and advanced purchase is recommended for the church dinner style event to be held at Lewisburg United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 5-7 p.m.
Folks familiar with Clingman’s will recall the home cooked meals prepared by Gwen and her helpers in the small kitchen in the back of the store. Brown beans, stewed tomatoes, Harvard beets, carrot, peas, turkey with dressing and gravy… all prepared with caring hands and a giving heart. Gwen loved her community and her community loved her back. She gave so much of herself without the expectation of a thank you or any recognition in return. Please come help us honor the generosity of one with the generosity of so many others.
